Born in St. Louis, Peggy Froh Asseo lived throughout the Midwest, California and Oregon before settling in the Chicago area. With her passion for music, she pursued a degree in music education. She soon moved into the non-profit world and spent over forty years in philanthropy, with a focus on fundraising and institutional advancement administration. With her retirement from The Rotary Foundation in 2023, she has continued to assist non-profits as a volunteer and consultant.
Peggy is an equestrian (ask her about her Arabian horse), an avid reader, and a volunteer for Chicago-area animal rescues. She attends music, theatre and dance performances, has enjoyed a Lyric Opera subscription for 35 years, is a member of the Art Institute of Chicago and the Chicago Botanic Garden, and has a passion for folk and roots music. She deeply believes that human beings sharing these common interests help communities to come together. Her commitment to animal welfare started as a child, continued throughout life, and is reflected in a house full of furry creatures, many of them fosters.
Peggy’s photographs have been featured in magazines, websites, social media, and promotional materials. Her subjects reflect her passions, particularly her love of travel. She believes that the beauty of the landscapes and the humanity of the faces in the photos celebrate the best that the world has to offer.
