Dogs

So many dogs to love! Always shelter dogs, always the Best Dog Ever. I worked in animal welfare for years and, since I couldn’t bring home every dog I fell in love with, I made certain that friends and neighbors were well supplied. It’s probably just as well that Yosi has drawn the line at just one at a time.

My mother, Pat Froh, with Dolly, the first of her three Maltese. Dolly was rescued from an abandoned apartment in very bad shape. Mom took her on faith and her matted fur grew back into an adorable fluffball.

Maisey was rescued from Kentucky. She is a Tibetan Terrier and the sweetest dog I have ever had in my life.
I found Lily at Chicago Animal Care & Control. The minute I laid eyes on her, we both knew we were each other’s. She lived to 16.

We joked that Lily was a bit like me – generally amiable but with a little bit of bitch
